Monash Business School Dean’s Alumni Award
Each year, the Dean’s Gala is a special evening of celebration, inspiration, and recognition. The global business school community comes together to acknowledge the commitment and excellence that defines Monash Business School and to celebrate distinguished alumni with seven major awards presented: Emerging Talent Award, Professional Achievement Award, Impact Award, Community Award, Indigenous Award and Lifetime Achievement Award.
This year I was surprised, delighted, and honoured to have been awarded the Community Award – and to have been nominated by my colleagues was very special.
The Community Award honours an alumnus who has made a significant impact to the Monash Business School Community through leadership, mentoring, philanthropy, or service back to the school.
As one of the top 50 Business Schools in the world, Monash Business School has esteemed alumni in every sector; to receive this award is an unexpected joy.
Little did I know that when I walked in Irene Powell’s class 20 years ago, I would begin a wonderful relationship with the Monash University community.
Working alongside five Heads of Department; Professors Mike Ewing, Harmen Oppewal, Peter Danaher, Hean Tat Keh and Srinivas Sridharan has been rewarding.
Whilst collaborating with industry leaders such as Graeme Samuel, John Zeigler and Ken Roberts is always a privilege.
Having come full circle, I now have the wonderful experience of teaching the next generation of Marketers alongside brilliant educators such as Peter Wagstaff.
Congratulations to all the nominees and award winners who are doing amazing work across the globe; Nathaniel Diong, Vera Ignjatovic AM, Scott Cairns, Catherine Quinlan, Kyra Galante and Professor Izan Izan.

2025 Monash Business School Dean’s Alumni Award winners
My wish is that we continue to strive for excellence in business and help to make life a little better for those who face challenges through no fault of their own, through innovation, collaboration, and respect.
Thank you to my family; my husband Hamish and my sons Campbell and Nicholas, my friends, colleagues, and community who show me love, care and kindness. Whilst this award is recognition for my contribution to Monash Business School, to me it is recognition for each and every person who has and continues to provide me support every step of the way.
This is an evening that I’ll always remember with great happiness and joy.
Until next time.
